Photographer's Note

You can see from this photo why locals refer to the London Underground as the "Tube". Londons Tube is one of the oldest and most complicated systems still in existence. Most Londoners don't speak of it very fondly- but I personally found it quite nostalgic.
I was told that tunnels like this were formerly a part of London's water systems (least I hope it was, and not sewerage!). I've had someone tell me that's not so.... I'd be interested in hearing from Londoners on the validity?
