Photographer's Note

St Katherine Docks are on the north side of the River Thames, just east of Tower Bridge in London, England. The Docks took their name from the former hospital of St Katharine's by the Tower, built in the 12th century, which stood on the site. Officially opened on the 25 October 1828 they were never able to handle the larger ships and when extensively damaged during the blitz in World War II they were doomed as modern ships were unable to get into the dock. In the 1970's they were re-modelled to become the marina, leisure and housing complex they are today.
