Photographer's Note
This elegant spiral staircase is one of the earliest examples of cantilever stair design and can be found in Queen's House. The house was built in 1616 for Queen Anne on the banks of the river Thames and is now part of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.

This is an excellent composition : very good exposure (difficult to get in such conditions because of different levels of light... there's just a little over-exposition around the lamp, on the left), good choice of angle and an optimum framing. Well seen Nina, congratulations.

Please don't think it's just a critique in return Nina. ;o) But really! This image shot just in my eyes! Incredible sharpness and brightness... Looks like draw with a ink pen and filled with fluorescent paint.
Very attractive!

Nice shot! I've always liked spiral staircases, and I love the composition - the way the eye is drawn from the bottom right to the upper middle. Not sure whether that's a light or some flare on the stair nearest the bottom right though - whatever it is I might be tempted to crop it out... In some ways it actually reminds me of an eye as well - good work :-D

Great picture, just breathtaking. And I love how the blue color of the railing just appears at higher levels.

Top marks , excellent shot, clear and crisp, I also am an avid fan of this type of image you have captured the colours just right with the creams diminishing in sympathy with the helix of the spiral the blues taking over when the creams fade out .

Really nice, sharp and clear, composition great and I love how the handrail changes from black to blue because of the light coming from the skylight.

The composition and form are such that this would be very effective even in B&W. But the unusual and subtle colour variations make this an outstanding image.

Wow, this is one of the best I've seen on TE. Superb composition and great colors. The different shades of blue in the banisters, leading to the view of the bright blue sky, are great.

Beautiful design. How did you capture the blue on the top banisters? Eye catching, especially with the central sky light being a similar hue

Hi Nina. I like this photograph because it looks a lot like an illustration, while it's clearly a photograph. Like the bright blue up there. If you stare long enough it changes into an eye that stares right back.....
No! I've have not been smoking something weird! :-) My compliments for a great shot.

I like the esthetism of this shot, the spiral is well caught and the color going from black to blue = stairs up to the sky !

Like DuFrank, this superb photo reminds me of a graphic design (illustration). The composition is perfect with the "eye" on top watching. In fact you could have called it THE EYE or something like that. The contrast between the colours and the contrast between the curves and the straight lines give depth and life to this surreal shot.

Everything on this photo has it's best possible position. Spiral that goes diagonally from bottom right to top left, excellent light gradation, very subtle colours.
I just love this shot for it's strong graphical impact. Nice job.

Beautifully shot Nina - this is an absolutely compelling image.....wonderful......perhaps a little vignetting at the corners and perhaps the sky is a little turquoise ..but i guess this is also the effect of the glass in the skylight.....wonderful!

Hi Nina
Splendid work with outstanding graphic qualities. The composition is great and well done on exposure, especially preserving the colour of the sky in the window which provides an eye-catching splash of blue.
Best wishes
