Photographer's Note

The very first thing which I found intriguing about the Belvoir Castle was its pronunciation. Its name almost certainly originated from the French language, but it is not pronounced as a Frenchman would expect. Instead the locals call it /ˈbiːvər/, which sounds to me like the animal beaver.

The castle has been presented on TrekEarth already but it was not visited too often. For me it was as well the first visit with my camera to Leicestershire, so I am very proud to mark this county on my TrekEarth map of the UK.

Check Wikipedia for more info on this beautiful castle.
