Photographer's Note

I took this picture about an hour ago on the fells just behind where I live. I recently moved to this part of the country and although it costs me too much money to live where I do, it is a very beautiful place!

I feel very priviledged to have the sea 20 minutes away in one direction, fells and moorland 5 minutes the other way and views right across the Lake District from near to my house.

This picture was taken in the Forest of Bowland, a part of the Lancashire fells which rise up to 500-600m above sea level.

This area has recently been opened up under new legislation and is now "open access land." That means the general public have the right to wander across the fells and appreciate the wonderful views in all their glory.

I love photography. There would have been nothing else that would have got me out of bed this morning to see this sunrise!
