Hello Everyone,

This is a row of delightful, terraced cottages, on a street which leads towards the moors. (You might be able to see them in the background.)

The small cottages were originally built for farm workers and mill workers and were basic in their contents.

Now, they have been modernised, many have extensions on the back with superb views of the countryside, and they have become desirable residences. Any that come up for sale are usually quickly sold. (The one in the f/g is under offer!)

Besides having character, the cottages are on the edge of the lovely countryside, popular with walkers.

On the Google map virtual tour this road looks very familiar, as I did "strolled" sometime ago through.
Beautiful how those houses preserved in its style, look similar - but attractive to any photographer.

Hello Bev,
You posted a very similar photo a year ago, but that time you were standing a few meters further down the road, so we didn't see the Hathaway Cottage (will anyone buy it?) or the brown door to the #32. It's a nice view so I understand why you come back here. Last year's photo was taken a few weeks later, and obviously autumn had advanced further, judging from the plants above the doors near the bottom of the hill.
You should come here regularly to show us the changes. ;-)

I like the wide angled panoramic crop. Good sharpness and the attached outhouses add a rustic charm. I can well believe this area is being gentrified and becoming upmarket. Tfs!

You took this picture out of perfect angle.
We get the typical houses with a brickwork front yard.
Everything in a descending line.

The diagonal line of the street is giving dynamism to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the cottages. The light is givng good colors output. Have a nice day.

Hello Beverley,
We catch a glimpse of the beautiful countryside in the upper right corner. In this way we can imagine the view the residents have in their backyard.
Most houses have a nice little porch. Is that because otherwise you would immediately enter the living room? Or does it serve as a cold barrier in the house?

I think I remember seeing thes lovely cottages before. Nice angle looking downhill here and great quality of the phone photo. I just have a feeling that they are titled to the right.
Very vibrant colors in spite of bad weather.

nice these old structures were preserved. in portugal many abandoned villages are receiving people from big towns who use the traditional houses as a country home, while the rural houses in timber of my region are being dismantled faster..
