Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

This is the time of year when young birds have just left their nest s and the most dangerous part of their new life begins.

I was in the garden and heard an unusual chirping. A quick investigation revealed a small fledgling sitting totally still amongst my sweet peas. It had obviously been conversing with a parent bird.

Although it is speckled, like a thrush, I am pretty sure this was a young robin. It is much easier to be camouflaged with speckles, than a red breast!

I made a quick survey to make sure there were no cats anywhere nearby and then left the fledgling to its parent and a whole new exciting life.

I will add a w/s here of a second photograph that I took.

I hope that the young bird managed to fly and gain its independence.

Have a good day, Bev :-)
