Set in a magnificent waterside location at the heart of the redeveloped Salford Quays in Greater Manchester, The Lowry is an architectural flagship with a unique and dynamic identity. Rising from the regenerated docklands, it is a welcoming building, designed to reflect the surrounding landscapes and flourishing waterways, in its glass and metallic surfaces.

The Lowry opened on 28th April 2000, bringing together a wide variety of performing and visual arts under one roof. Opening its door to the best in entertainment and education in the arts, The Lowry aims to give everyone access to new areas of creativity and to embrace its broad community.

A well presented shot of the facade..futuristic and sharp..wish you take more of the top..could have turned out to be a city abstraction..the theme could change :)

A good composition of this modern architecture with some pleasing angles and curves, though I'm not sure about the tilting apartment block in the background ;-) I like the the shadows and reflections. Must try and get there one day; Lowry was always one of my favourite artists of the modern era.

Dynamic architecture, and the point of view works well to display the features!
Fine details but a tiny overexposure in the top/ sky...
Composition is tolp shelf, well done!

I really enjoy this modern/futuristic perspective, it's got punch. Love the reflections. A pity for the overexposition of the sky, and maybe a version with a crop of the building behind ? Certainly an area to explore!

What an architecture! These manifold forms and the materials are amazing and fascinating, and the contrast to the background building is nearly breathtaking. Very interesting!
