Good Morning Everyone,

This photograph brings back memories of a lovely walk with friends.

We were venturing along the banks of the Leesd to Liverpool Canal, with the intention of reaching Barnoldswick, for a well-earned lunch. As we approached the bridge, the trees, with their hint of autumn colours, made a beautiful, reflected spendour in the water.

Nice to see you here. I am now teaching college students in China. Good sharpness, wonderful reflections, excellent saturation & superb shadow detail despite the strong sunlight. The meandering path at right adds good perspective & lead in lines. Tfs!

Hello Bev,
I trust you are enjoying a pleasant and peaceful Sunday. The arch of the bridge makes a great frame for the lovely reflected scene in the background. An agreeable range of autumnal tones captured under a good light. The tow path nicely placed on the right invites us to step into the scene and follow you to the pub:-)

Love this simple scene looking under the old bridge at the tree linned canal.
The reflections are stunning yet tranquil making for a very compelling country scene.

Greeting Beverley,

You took us all along memory lane with this beauty, but you should have included some impersonal shots of your friends. Arches in bridges, or indeed in any structure create useful frames. This one is no exception.

In the US we have Thanksgiving on Nov. 22, do you celebrate the same date? The date commemorates the occasion 290 years ago when English Settlers had a 'thanksgiving dinner' at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts. But it turns out, one year earlier at Berkeley Plantation in Virginia, English Settlers had prefigured the Puritans of Massachusetts. Finally, I just found out that Spanish Settlers celebrated thanksgiving 56 years earlier in St. Augustine, Florida.

The beauty of this autumn scene is highlighted with the elegant framing made of the bridge arch. In addition, the colorfulness of the background is doubled with the very aesthetic optical reflection. fabulous reflection under the arch of the bridge, with amaing view of how the canal is "disappearing" around the curve.
