Photographer's Note

Here on the Isle of Wight the weather has continued to be poor for photography since the end of November, but i managed to capture this shot yesterday down at Alum Bay.
The conditions looked fairly poor before i headed out to the beach, and there was a moderate amount of high Cirrus cloud combined with some lower Strato-cumulus cloud which was making things turn a little grey. Every now and then the sun would break through, although i wasn't feeling too confident about a decent sunset, but i still head down to Alum Bay anyway....just incase............and then just before sunset the sun broke through the clouds and lit up the under side of the Strato-cumulus an amazingly intense and beautiful orange colour.

The moral of this story is to head out, even if the conditions don't look so good, you may well be suprised!

I used an ND8 Graduated filter
