Photographer's Note

Another picture of Belem taken from the zodiac speed boat. The wind is coming from the rear of the ship, or, to be slightly technical "with the wind on the quarter". This is why the square sails are oriented perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the ship but also why the main sail is furled (otherwise, she would have taken the wind from the fore sail).
