Photographer's Note

This photo was taken in the middle of August this year (2007)

The day started cloudy with rain but during the afternoon the sun broke through making everything steamy and warm, by late afternoon/evening some showers and storms started building, and a short while before sunset i saw this huge cloud drifting in from the North, i decided to try and get as high as i could so i could watch the storm as it came over.
I drove up the top of Nunwell down and as i did i realised there were some amazing wheat fields up there.
Well, i combined the two, wheat field and storm cloud gave the perfect combination, so i ran across the field to try and get the best composition, i didn't make it to where i wanted to go though because it started to rain, so i just set up where i was and took a few shots just as the sun came out on the northwestern horizon.
The sun lit the wheat so strongly that it doesn't show here at all, it was much brighter in real life and there were more colours than what my camera could reproduce!
After this shot i manged to capture a couple of lightning bolts which you can see further back in my gallery.

I used an ND8 Grad filter for the sky.
