Photographer's Note

This photo was taken a few days after a heavy snowstorm hit the Isle of Wight.
The roads were still very dangerous, and the small country lanes were even worse!
Even so, i managed to make my way to Ashey which is about 4 miles from my house, but it took me almost an hour to get there by car!

There was an icy cold wind blowing across the snowfields and the temperature (according to my car thermometer) was -11.3'c.
I trudged across the fields in the twighlight to try and find a suitable composition. The snow was coming over the top of my walking boots, but my snowboard trousers kept things in check!

I finally decided on this composition using the tree and the moon, and as it got more and more light, i could see loads of tracks in the snow from a fox that must have been hunting rabbits!

I used an ND8 Graduated filter
