Photographer's Note
A wintery scene from two years ago. Last year the winter here was wet and warmish but not like this. I hope this winter we'll get some days of real wintery views.

I'm happy to be the first to give you praise for this beauty, Aleks. Almost like a romantic painting here, with the soft tones and textures left by the snow. The whole shot flows beautifully, and I can feel the clean crisp air washing out of the frame. Almost monotone, but the hints of green are tantalizing and a bit cruel when one realizes that winter is so close.
The hay bales really put the period at the end of the sentence on this one - great geometric shapes to break up the rest and focus the eye. Beautiful work.

Hello Aleks - What a superb winter scene, I cannot believe that only now it sees the light of day, it is so beautiful! The depth you have achieved is excellent and the detail so fine. But, best of all, the mood and colour; subtle, ethereal and so delicate. I wish this was one I had in my gallery. Warm regards and congratulations on a very fine photograph. Rosemary

Kia ora Aleks,
Great winter scene, something we don't see where I live. I like the crispness & sharp detail of the foreground. I can almost feel the cold. Cheers, neil

Hi Aleks
remember the winter of 2 years ago too. This is a wonderfully composed and executed shot. Not always easy to get the whites just right in scenes like this but this is perfect. Beautiful!
Who knows we could have more of the same this year the weather has been pretty crazy all year!
Have a great weekend - regards Brian.

Hello Aleks,
I really enjoy the understated treatment that you have given this shot, having resisted the temptation to pump up the contrast you have produced a fine photograph, delicate with a really lovely, almost surreal atmosphere.
Top class job, love it to bits, into my favourites it goes.
Cheers Les.

Bonjour Aleks,
j'aime bien le coté féérique du paysage quoique j'aurais cadré horizontalement .

Hello Aleks,
I feel cold just looking at this. We have just come back from hot and humid Vietnam and Cambodia to cold and wet West Sussex.
Your photo is a lovely with the snow and frost picking out detail of this undulating landscape. The saplings in the FG and the stacked bales of hay in the field are well placed in the frame giving a well organised composition. Wonderful subtle tones - beautiful image.
Kind Regards, Ann
