Photographer's Note
Uncertain smile
Framing a train on Manningtree station from the usual angle this woman came walking into the frame and I decided to push the shutter while she hadn’t left it, realising what an excellent lead in the train formed and also that there are various ways to capture people, even for the somewhat thin skinned.
While post processing I couldn’t exactly pin down the faint smile.
Uncertain smile is a “The The” track from their “Soul Mining” album, released by Epic in 1984
The usual PCS2 tech: slightly cropped, adjusted levels, contrast, saturation and curves differentially; USM-ed , added a frame added and saved for the web.

Goeden morgen Bert,
John.

Another striking scene, Bert, wonderful capture with the woman exactly in the right place, sunlit and all, in briliant color, against the background of that train... Very filmic, evocative...
Cheers,
Francis

Hi Bert
It's the daily life. The train and the passenger. You had a beautifull light. I also like the frame.
Well done

Hello Bert,
A very nice capture. You really pressed the button in the right moment nice constrast between the woman in the background and the shaded background. Really nice title because she looks sad but at the same time she is smiling. A really great work!

Hej Bert,
Prettige week!
Groetjes,
Lars

Dag Bert,
Looks like the Lady is prepared for all kind of weather:sunglasses, umbrella and a jacket.
You placed her perfectly into the frame, and nice how she is looking at you with this "Mona Lisa smile".The train is a good background of course and it´s repeating the color of the women´s t-shirt.
Greetings,
Hermann

Bonjour Bert

The light, the frame and the atmosphere are excellent. It's a "modern" ambience, a little from the 70's.
Very effective and good.

Hi Bert,
What a superb capture. The woman appears from nowhere it seems with a Mona Lisa smile. The train is clearly seen and your angled POV is most effective. A most impressive shot, Bert. This is a keeper.
