The Streets of Rye

Even though the day was a bit cloudy, I can resist showing the charming old houses in the town of Rye, East Sussex. Rye is a town of almost 5,000 inhabitants, located some two miles from the sea. In the Middle Ages it was a member of the Cinque Ports confederation. Built on a hill, the town centre has many small cobbled streets and half-timbered houses. This photo was taken in Church Square.
