Photographer's Note

Brighton Pier

For the past four years, I have made an annual visit to the city of Brighton in England in April/May as part of a school trip with about sixty of my 12 year-old students. Brighton has always been on the program and this year we even stayed in a youth hostel close to Brighton Pier.

What's more, I bought a new camera some days earlier, since I had become hugely dissatisfied with my previous camera, which had resulted in my not taking any photo for the past six months, hence my recent absence from the site. These two facts combined explains this photo of Brighton Pier, taken exactly one week ago in the early evening, while strolling towards the Brighton Wheel to book a ride for my students the following day.

Brighton Pier, or actually Brighton Marine Palace and Pier is a more than 500 metre long pleasure pier, built at the end of the 19th century.
