Photographer's Note

A view of the other kiosk on the Palace Pier in the City of Brighton, East Sussex, England. (my post of a few days ago refers). This is on the other side of the pier and shows the eastern promenade and the recently added wheel on the seafront. Both kiosks were originally constructed as entrance kiosks for the Chain Pier that was built in 1823. The Chain Pier was to be dismantled and replaced by the existing Palace Pier but part way through demolition, what remained, was destroyed by a fierce storm in 1896. Luckily the kiosks were saved and placed on the new Palace Pier which was opened to the public in 1899.
