Photographer's Note

This distinctive terraced crescent is on the seafront in the City of Brighton, East Sussex, England. The houses were built in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and it was the first Brighton development specifically built so as to face the sea. The grand scale was to attract middle to upper class tenants as it became fashionable and therapeutic to spend time by the sea. The buildings are Grade II listed and have had many famous tenants over the years.
