Photographer's Note
I took this from the central tower of Durham cathedral. The towers seen in the photo overlook the river Wear, deep down below.
Durham cathedral is over 900 years old, and is recognised as one of the greatest and best-preserved examples of Romanesque architecture anywhere. It certainly is a majestic and imposing structure, but also one that is elegant and almost wise, from all the years it has seen.
