Photographer's Note

Although abandoned over a 100 years ago, this building is still known and referred to as Middleworth Farm.

"It is a well preserved example of an old granite built farm building. One of several abandoned farms on southern Dartmoor.
The farms were evacuated when Burrator reservoir was built at the end of the 19th century.

The farms were all very similar, being built from granite collected from the area.
The houses were small with an outbuilding being very close to the house."

Such a sturdy building, with dressed stone and strong lintels; it would have been built by an experienced mason I presume.

Note the plants now growing out of the walls.

Thanks for looking.
