Photographer's Note

From Buckland Abbey, one time home of Sir Francis Drake.

"It's the first Christmas of Drake's circumnavigation of the world, and his household are preparing for a fabulous festive season at his Devon home."
(National Trust website.)

Some of the rooms were bedecked with Christmas decorations typical of the Tudor period. Here is a sailing ship made from sugar!
Other such delicacies were items made from marzipan, (marchpane) and an exotic peacock pie!

Thank you for your visit, and best wishes for the New Year.
