Photographer's Note

Trawling through my files I decided to share this shot from a couple of years ago.

The Sidmouth, week long, Folk Festival.

Now I am unsure as just who this group were, and I am unsure as to whether they are classed as 'Morris dancers' or simply folk dancers.
Whichever, I liked their very colourful costumes.

Morris dancing is based on rhythmic stepping and choreographed figures executed by a group of dancers, usually wearing bell pads on their shins.

Implements such as sticks, swords and handkerchiefs can also be wielded by the dancers.

Notice that they are wearing bells, and they are wielding sticks!

Thanks for looking.
