Photographer's Note
If you know my gallery you might recognise this building - Saltram House on the outskirts of Plymouth.
"Saltram was home to the Parker family from 1743 and the house reflects their increasingly prominent lifestyle during the Georgian period."
(National Trust handbook)
Saltram is very popular destination, situated so close to the city.
My title? During the latest lockdown the house and gardens have been closed to visitors, but as you can see from the solitary figure and small tractor, there is still work to be done in the gardens.
There is a larger estate surrounding this area that has remained open for walkers and cyclists.
The daffodils in the foreground brighten up the scene.
Two more views in the workshop.
Taken with my iPhone.
Thank you for looking.

Beautiful three photos from this place, rightly chosen the main post, Jean.
Placed the mansion between the trees and from a fair distance to include the whole edifice.
Charming green lawn in front.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Jean,
The WS shows us that a blue sky makes a difference, but in this case I would say that the gardener and his tractor make an even greater difference. The trees surrounded by a lawn covered with daffodils also make this an obvious choice of main photo, even though both WS are also attractive.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Jean,
Very beautiful compositions in your main post and the first photo in the WS to present us Saltram House.
The daffodils rightly take up a large portion of your main photo.
They bloom beautifully in long rows on the lawn.
The workman and tractor are nicely placed with the light blue sky as a background.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Jean,
A great photo of the grand building. The many daffodils look really charming in the foreground and the trees create a nice, natural frame. Well done.

Hi Jean
Ah, yes it would be that time of year over there. I'll have to start posting autumn photos soon to balance all the northern spring photos.
A good composition with daffodils backed by the grand mansion.
cheers

Hello Jean,
The daffodils and narcissus flowers certainly do add a bright splash of colour. Good sharpness and the dark bare trees add a nice graphic element against the bright sky. Tfs!

Hello Jean,
Daffodils abound and make a very beautiful, colourful f/g as preparation before seeing the house.
I like how well you have included the trees; they help to anchor the f/g but do not shroud the details of this magnificent house.
The lone worker, and tractor, add a little animation to your photograph.
Yes, this was the best fro the main post.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

a well chosen PoV and composition with the house and the working men both off center. the daffodils provide a bright foreground and lead-in.

Hello Jean,
With a beautiful scene like this.....just sit back and enjoy the view and admire the daffodils in full 'bloom'.
I do like the WS1. It's a pity that no daffodils otherwise it will be a wonderful picture as main.
Ha!Ha! the WS2 ...is like 'peeking' through somebody's garden. I must admit that it's a very immaculate garden.
This lone gardener has done a good job, maintaining this place with a small tractor.
Not bad at all, taken with iPhone :-)
Thanks for sharing this Saltram House.

Hi Jean,
the daffodils are indeed bringing in so much joy and color to the scene here. Also the naked trees add a nice touch. The sky is my least favourite but one cannot always have a perfect one.
Lovely architecture, very well seen and captured,
M
