Photographer's Note

Situated in the beautiful small village of Rydal in south Cumbria, just north of Ambleside, this is the interior of the Parish Church of St. Mary. It was built in 1824 by Lady le Fleming of Rydal Hall and the Lakeland poet, William Wordsworth, who spent most of his life living in this village, played a part in choosing the site which was originally an orchard. Wordsworth himself, a religious man and also a lover of Nature, would have worshipped here on a regular basis.
