Photographer's Note

Second only to Scafell in the magnificence of it's rock architecture is the imposing Dow Crag, towering above the stony hollow of Goats Water.
Dow crag is a favoured climbing ground of rock climbers,
Easy Gully, photographed here, is "easy" by rock climbers standards - most walkers would turn away from such an imposing sight.
I took Wainwrights "cowards way" up Dow Crag (a joke statement on his behalf I suspect), a near vertical scramble up the South Rake and then wandered across to the top of Easy Gully for a look down, to see what had looked impossible from below.
