Good Morning Friends,

In England, it is difficult to improve on the Lake District for beautiful scenery, no matter what the weather is like.
On this day, we had enjoyed a lovely walk from Grasmere up to Easedale Tarn and were following the footpath back towards the village. In jest, the local café owner had promised to send up a search party if we had not returned by dusk! There was no need! The path was clear and though there were not many other hikers, on that day, there was little chance of us getting lost.

The sun was getting lower in the sky, which caused it to cast one side of the valley in shade and the other in bright sunlight, enriching the colours of the bracken and the vibrancy of the grass.

We had to stop and enjoy the scene and the mood.
Eventually, the call of the café, spurred us onwards.

Hello Bev,
The stony path makes a very effective lead-line into the scene. The image is well exposed and has pleasing natural colours and very good sharpness. A fine long perspective toward the distant hills. Have a pleasant week.

What a beautiful cobbled path ! This is an invitation to follow the walkers towards the green valley in the far , passing through the ferns in their autumn colors . The big stone in the FG , the green pine tree on the left , provide other interesting focal points .

Hello Beverley, you made good use of the pathway to lead us right to the heart of the picture.
The autumnal colours add to the composition.

On dirait une vielle route pavée par les romains . Le regard la suit très loin dans l'image. Quel beau paysage, tellement anglais. Les personnages apportent une belle relation dimensionnelle.

Hello Becverley, very nice image here. I love the fall colors and the narrow stone path that for a moment seems like escaping the shadow but it doesn't :) Interesting perspective. Lovely hills in the background, it looks like an amazing place for a backpacking afternoon.

This trail is not on the usual tourists route, and looks so remote, only local people know about.
That's a good advantage, and yet a pitty - a place I would not find in any guided tour... fabulous place to take a stroll on a bright day, cheers for showing this beauty.

This landscape is so beautiful, it must be a wondrous feeling to hike through such lovely nature. The cobbled path leads the eye into the scene, where we find the couple walking peacefully along. I like the depth in this photo, giving us a view of the clouds over the hills in the distance. Lovely colour contrast between the brown ferns and the scattered green grass. A very inviting view.

So very well observed and captured from a great point of view taking in as much detail from top to bottom of this wonderful scene as possible. Love the sense depth and great dof too, but my only negative critique seriously is that; the apparent harsh lighting is so often not good for landscapes shot like this, but you have to take conditions as they are and you did your best here. That said, it's still a good shot nevertheless. Congrats, tfs

A very nice scenery and a composition with excellent depth all along the cobbled path, way down into the very green valley. There are very fine tones of brown and green and the beautiful light must have made this walk a great pleasure.

Hello Bev,

Missed this one. The picturesque walking track looks to be in fair condition with proper stone steps and not just a rutted, eroded incline like some walking tracks in Australia. Good sharpness and the reddish brown dried vegetation sets up a superb warm cold colour contrast against the blue sky. Tfs.
