Photographer's Note
A working water wheel found up a small alley-way in Ambleside when we were up there in july. Ajusments were a cropping of the picture, black ansd white points , brightness and contrast + unsharp mask.

I think you've got a good shot with which to work but you've lightened it too much.
Try taking down the brightness until the color returns to the vegetation and stones at the top of the frame. Then use the dodge tool (or other technique) to lighten the wheel area.
Also try rotating about one degree to the right.

You have found very beautiful subject. I think that you could get more effective shots if you got closer and took some simple shoots without the wall and the plants which I find a litle bit distracting. Good shot in any case.

It's very well composed and framed but I must agree with Bob, too much light and a slight tilt to correct...
