Photographer's Note

This is the SS Great Britain revolutionary ship, built by the famous engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, in Bristol. She was not only the largest ship afloat, she was also constructed of iron and was to be the first ocean going propeller-driven ship. Launched at Bristol on July 19th 1843 she was built to serve the growing transatlantic passenger trade.
Today, she is back to the place of her birth in 127 years. More info here.
