Photographer's Note

Got up before dawn to get some photos of and from the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol. It was about -4 degrees C, and walking up the hill was treacherous. Glad I did, though. As I was crossing the bridge towards the Somerset side (a different county at each end, you see), I spotted this view, and the shape and contrast of the snow-covered trees demanded I took a shot. The shots I *planned* to take were not quite as good as this, which is one thing I love and get frustrated about on a photo-shoot: it's often those you find by chance that are the best.

Rendered from RAW, took one exposure for the sky and another for the trees. Curves and levels and blended together. No sharpening required.
