Photographer's Note

With this shot I am trying to represent one of the Kharkiv’s biggest residential areas, called Pavlove Pole (Paul’s Field). Unlike another such area, Novi Budinki (New Buildings), Pavlove Pole does not correspond to its name. There is no field there, but there are many new high-rise buildings and cars, as you can see in the picture. Also in Pavlove Pole there are many research institutions, botanical gardens, a passenger aerial conveyer, the Kharkiv’s biggest WW II memorial, the largest clinic, a television tower (242.5 m) and the main avenue named after Lenin (Lenin’s Avenue; it is seen in the picture), which is proposed to be renamed to Lennon’s Avenue.

This picture, as well as all that day’s pictures, was taken thanks to my wife, who had bought two seats for a Sunday’s bus trip from Pavlove Pole to Chuguiv and Kochetok.
