Photographer's Note

On the second day of our bike travel over north-eastern Ukraine we were in the urban-type settlement of Kotelva, the center of a rural area of Poltavska oblast. In Kotelva, except a nice old church, there is the big forest park founded in 1918 by the well-know leader of WW II partisan movement, Sydir Kovpak, who was born there. In the picture you can see the western side of the park, which since 1975 has been considered as a monument of landscape-development art. At this place the park is bordered with the Vorskla River, which is the third main point of interest in Kotelva. Along our further ride over Poltavska oblast the river was a guiding thread for us to its flowing into the Dnieper.
