Photographer's Note

I visited Ukraine in 2003, it's still analog times for me.
I searched the archive and found some unpublished photos. These are scans from the positives.
I think the city of Lviv is worth mentioning these days.
I hope this beautiful city will survive these difficult times unscathed.
How could such a culturally interesting city be destroyed?
I think Russia will stop the war.

The photo shows the Adam Mickiewicz's statue.

Adam Mickiewicz (24 December 1798 – 26 November 1855) was a Polish poet, dramatist, essayist, publicist, translator and political activist. He is regarded as national poet in Poland, Lithuania and Belarus. A principal figure in Polish Romanticism, he is one of Poland's "Three Bards" and is widely regarded as Poland's greatest poet. He is also considered one of the greatest Slavic and European poets and has been dubbed a "Slavic bard". A leading Romantic dramatist, he has been compared in Poland and Europe to Byron and Goethe. The presence of the persons has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing the details of the Adam Mickiewics's statue. the light is giving good colors putput. Have a nice day.

A good photo of this large monument and column, which stands out well from the blue sky. The grand building and the church make a good backdrop together and the people added a nice touch of life.

I am recreating myself in the wonderful photos of Ukraine that you have uploaded, it is a country that I have not been to, I wonder how many of these wonders we will stop seeing because of the atrocity of this depraved Putin, and what a pity everything we see on TV.
Good color, lighting and sharpness well managed.

Hi Chris,there are more polish sings in the past of this city and sometimes the note of Mariusz are very useful to discover things like that. A nice capture of statue dedicated to this polish artist in Lviv, and another time i can tell to see a fast end of war. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Czesc Krzysztof,
mamy naprawde zdjecia bardzo podobnych miejsc, tak jakbysmy razem zwiedzali to miejsce. W 2003 mieszkalem w Kalifornii i chyba nawet tego roku nie bylem wcale w Europie bo mnie nie bylo stac :)
Tak wiec w tym miejscu bylem 14 lat pozniej:

Wiem ze juz widziales moja wersje ale sie przypominam...
Na Twojej fotografii widac i troche katedry i ratusza. Mysle ze w tamtych przedcyfrwoych czasach bardziej nieskory bylem zeby probowac roznych wersji, kazde zdjecie kosztowalo no i niektore rzeczy umykaly za pierwszym razem. Teraz przy cyfrowej fotografii mozna cos od razu zauwazyc i powtorzyc nieco odmienione. Choc i tak w ferworze zwiedzania nie zawsze jest czas na poprawki.
Zawsze ciekawie wygladaja ludzie i samochody na starszych zdjeciach :)

Let's hope Ukraine can hold out from Russian aggression. Or Russian soldiers will refuse to fight if they are not paid. The ruble has lost more than 50% of its value and is plummeting fast. A nice tribute to Ukraine. Tfs!
