Photographer's Note

Independence Square, Kyiv, Ukraine
Hundrends of years of Ukrainian history are shown here.

1. The gold-domed belltower stands on the grounds of the Saint Sophia Cathedral. The first foundations of it were laid in 1037. The belltower itself was built in 1699-1706.
2. Three buildings with columns represents a complete rebuild of the place after World Word II and is typical for the neo-classical Stalinist architecture.
3. The glass dome and of course McDonald's are the signs of the most recent changes.
