Kiev - On a hill in Podil

Podil is one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Kiev. Trade, commerce and industry arose here.
Until the 19th century Podil served as a city center.

It’s on walking distance from Maidan Nezalezhnosti and you will pass the beautiful St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery.
When you arrive at the baroque Saint Andrew's Church you’re in Podil, on top of its steepest hill.

A cobbled curving street, Andriyivsky uzviz, brings you down to the center of Podil.
Walking down after the first curve you can find on your left side steep stairs against the forested hillside. They take you to a viewing point.
There are also stairs on the right side (walking down) but they only lead to a place where young people go to drink alcohol and where there are no good views.
