Lucerne and Pilatus

With this photo I am flying to my next destination. The photo was taken from a KLM aircraft high over the Swiss Alps on a bright Sunday morning in October 2018. I think that was the most comfortable flight I’ve ever had so far: the weather was wonderful in large parts of Europe and as I was sitting at the window I could enjoy the views perfectly, while the rest of the plane was very quiet, as my fellow passengers were mostly North Americans, who, after a layover at Schiphol, were all asleep, trying to get over their jet legs.

This is a view of Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee in German) in Central Switzerland. The city on the left hand side is Lucerne (Luzern) itself and the mountain in the foreground is the 2,129 metre-high Pilatus.

This photo was taken with my mobile phone. My next photo will show you destination of the plane (and of my next series).
