Photographer's Note

Swedish "Gripen" fighter in full vertical climb during the airshow "Air 04" in Payern, Switzerland.

The SAAB "Gripen" has been the first new-generation (fourth generation) multi-role/swing-role combat aircraft to enter service in the world. It was declared operational in the Swedish Air Force in 1997 (before the others real fourth generation fighters as the US F-35 or F-22, Russian SU-37, European "Eurofighter Typhoon" and French "Rafale").

As its brothers the Gripen benefits of an advanced aerodynamic combining a close coupled canard-delta configuration. The new-generation aircraft's design makes wide use of carbon-fiber composites and other new materials, advanced production technology, integrated computer systems, data fusion techniques and the latest aerodynamic concepts. The result is an aircraft with high levels of effectiveness in a wide range of roles and situations. Nowadays, the master-word is "Polyvalence".

PS : For the electronic music lovers, really I recommend the albums "Airdrawndagger" and "Involver" by the DJ Sasha...A spatial sound with a dynamic beat... Good trip through the galaxies ;) ........
