Photographer's Note

Lac Léman and boats of Montreux just after sunset.

It's a well known piece of music trivia that 'Smoke on the Water' of Deep Purple tells about fire of Montreux Casino that burned down in 1971 during Frank Zappa's performance. I'm still looking for a shot to match that title...

Well composed, with lovely colours where I notice the artificial light on the sailboats...
Nicely framed with the touch of branch to the right side!

Hello Kari,

quite an attractive night photo. Nicely lit background, a bit dark at the front. I think the crop does a nice job of addressing that and it could have been employted. As it stands its a bit of a weakpoint but not too much to detract too much from this shot. I still like it.

Don't look too long for something that could be titled 'smoke on the water' or I'll think that you were the one setting those boats on fire in the middle of the night ;D
Lovely blue hour you have captured here, with clear and sharp boats in the middle and the shady ones left in their rocking darkness. Wonderful capture!
