Walking in a piano bar in Lausanne, took some ambiance shots and got satisfied with this guy, taking a humble deep breath... Maybe the last, he said he wanted to quit...

Le mal du siècle c'est ça... heureusement je m'en suis sorti il ya quelques années et je ne m'approche plus d'une cigarette de peur d'y retomber.

Peut être un peu trop contrasté dans les hautes lumières mais l'avantage c'est que la fumée ressort bien.

Hello Vincent

This almost a romantic view of a smoker, the kind you would see maybe 20-30 years ago.
Excellent use of the moment, the hard light creates a very nice illustration of the smoke and really doesn't leave anyone in doubt what is going on.
The hard light makes some parts of the photo overexposed, but I think it works well in this case.
The standing frame works well in this "portrait" and really puts the full attention on the smoker.
Excellent work.

This is a beautiful picture with a good composition and good colours. I really like the blending of the man silhouette with the background shadow. Also, the white smoke came out beautifully. Well done.

Décidemment Vincent, tu sors de belles photos avec des jeux de lumière très bien maîtrisés...Les parties sombres donnent beaucoup de relief finalement et bien sûr permettent de bien mettre en valeur cet homme...
C'est du beau boulot.

A lovely shot...wonderfully captured with light coming from the left. The smoke creates a wonderful effect against the black BG. The liught is tricky, but you've handled very well. Well seen, shot & presented

this one is a superb shot vincent... i like the dark background... also him being in the shade mostly, apart from the hands and face, they both are a bit overexposed but who cares, the expression on the face and hands are just great... the smoke adds a lot of course... a well composed image, congrats...

(also liked the message about trying to quit smoking... i dont smoke, morover i operate people who smoke and get lung cancer...)

What could be more typical of a piano bar--jeans, turtleneck sweater, and jacket? It almost makes smoking look cool and appealing, like a cigarette ad. Very nice use of strong shadow, Bincent, particularly the way a lot of the outline of his body isn't there, it's just suggested. Regards, Ken.

L'ambiance est extra. Le cadrage en vertical et la lumière sur le personnage me plaisent beaucoup. L'arrière plan en noir te permet de resortir le personnage.

Salut Vincent, tres bonne utilisation de l'exposition ici, j'aime beaucoup cette lumiere sur lui ainsi que les traces laisses par la fumee, une tres jolie prise, on dirait qu'il est sur scene apres son show...

Bonne prise du fumeur et surtout de la fumée.
Bonne gestion de la lumière.

J'ai ouvert celle-ci immédiatement parce que j'arrête de fumer depuis...3 jours. Aujourd'hui, je commence ma 4ème journée et j'avoue que c'est dur malgré les substituts. Donc, cette photo tombe bien dans mon contexte ;)
