Hello Chris,
a great composition with the boat moving diagonally towards the light agitating the smooth surface of the water and breaking through the dark ambiance and moody feeling. I like very much how poetic and realistic elements and details mingle to create a beautiful compelling image. You've mastered the light and the atmosphere superbly. Congratulations and thank you!

Bonjour Chris,

Joli sujet bien exploité, je trouve que c'est très évocateur et qu'il y a une belle ambiance.
Le traitement désaturé plus qu'un pure N&B fonctionne aussi bien en laissant une petite touche subtile sur le drapeau.

Hello Chris. Here you have published a fascinating photo. Everything is black and white, not just the flag. Also interesting are the subtle nuances between black and white. The key here is, however, the contrast between dark and illuminated parts of the image and the darker environment. So the scene is mysterious. My compliments for this great picture. Rgds, Wolfgang.

It is rather late, but I simply have to congratulate you on this photo. Superb composition, strong contrasts, beautiful light and our dear national flag as the only color splash, this is a gorgeous picture.

Your new serie of photos with the D800 starts well.
I do like the light management, the lines which drove to the light.
Very nice B&W treatment.
