Photographer's Note

Back then, I was living in a tower in Lausanne (55km from Geneva) at the 11th level (out of 15, that's high for Switzerland). I had a beautiful view over the city (120'000 inhabitants) that is built over 7 hills (so you have many bridges and approximately 3 ways to go from one point to another, with no idea which one is the shorter).

That was a strange night, clouds were hanging over the city and there was one flash of lightning each 10 to 15 seconds! So I took my old minolta (it's entirely automatic, you cannot choose anything), sat in front of my window and, as it stayed open for 3 to 4 seconds, I pushed the trigger randomly trying to catch something... ending with 19 pictures, only 3 with flashes of lighting.

I have converted the picture to B&W, sharpened it, darkened the front, adjusted contrast and brightness and that gives that...
