Photographer's Note

Class RBDe 560 commuter train pendeling between Villeneuve and Allaman on the line following shores of Lake Geneva. World famous vineyards of Lavaux in the background.

These vineyards are easily accessible by train and provide great views to Alps and Lake Geneva. Most effortless way is to take the train to the upper slopes to Grandvaux or Chexbres-Village and hike mostly downhill to one of the stations on the Lake Geneva shoreline.

Hello Kari,
very interesting POV; the train is going directly at us :) But what makes it even more interesting is, of course, the vineyards as a BG behind the train! They are on the slopes, and it seems that the train is arriving out of nowhere. Very lovely warm colours, too.

Hello Kari.
Just a bit of perspective and depth - thanks to the railtrack in the fg, but the shot is amazing. The red paint of the train is well coupling with the bg's yellow.

Hi Kari,
There is always one thing you can say about trains and engines; they show strength and power. In this picture the engine also creates a very good colour againts the brownish background. Even all electrical cables contribute to this fine composition!

Even in the vineyards you couldn't resist to a train, eh ? I can't blame you, it being a RED train ! And beyond the train the background is 1st class.

Nice POV showing only the front of the train... which is red! I like the white line on the right and the mess of cables in the upper part of the picture. And of course the Lavaux vineyards make a wonderful background!

Hi Kari,

I like this one best of all your recent train shots because of the pov and awesome background. The background is somewhat obscured by the train-related metallic objects in the foreground, but we expect that, so it is not a distraction. Very nice!

Here you show us such an interesting and truly beautiful picture!
Sharpness, exposure, depth of field, vertical format and colors are all excellent! But I really like to point out the nicely chosen pov (the best) and the ably done composition!

Hi Kari, what a beautifully composed shot, you've used just the right shutter speed to give us the idea of movement yet at the same time to capture the train so sharply. I like the vertical framing and also how it is filled with beautiful blocks of colour. Excellent job, Lisa.

A very busy frame full of many interesting details.
I like the earthy tones of the colours, the vineyards look wonderful running up to the top of frame.
