Photographer's Note
Simplon Pass connects Brig in the canton of Valais (Switzerland) with Domodossola (Italy).
I stumbled upon this route by pure chance and it was well worth the 3hr detour!
The Stone Eagle was built in 1944 by Erwin Friedrich Baumann.
This picture turned out exactly how I had hoped it would.
