Photographer's Note

The biggest glacier of the Alps, still proudly 23 km long starts in 3 different parts near Aletschhorn, Jungfrau, Mönch and Fiescherhorn. These parts joining at the so called Konkordiaplatz where the ice 1 km thick (can well be seen for the Eggishorn).

Then, it starts a big curve under the Wannenhorn, which is visible on this picture and then goes down parallel to the Rhone valley, separated by a crest where are located the nice villages of Riederalp and Bettmeralp.

For those who are missing the colors, I put it in WS :)
