Autumn colours of Gruyères, a photo from Fribourg, West

Photographer's Note

Image taken on a day trip to Gruyères from Geneva. I sat on the wrong side of the bus and could only get glimpses of the magnificent Alps on the other side of the lake as we passed along the side of Lake Geneva. First stop was the Maison Cailler Chocolaterie in Broc and second stop was La Maison du Gruyère cheese factory. I couldn't see the point of being inside factories when there was such beautiful scenery outside. I decided to skip the tour of the cheese factory and take a walk instead. I headed away from the factory in the direction away from the medieval town because that would be the next stop on the tour. I discovered this forest at the opposite end of town.

Un joli paysage bien cadré dans le format vertical.Beau rendu de ces couleurs de l'automne ici bien mises en valeur dans ce cadre noir.

Hello Trevor,

Well, I suppose you can have cheese any time you want but to photograph this beautiful scene was a chance not to be missed!

It is a lovely scene too and you have composed your photograph perfectly, the fallen tree making a fine foreground feature and also helping to lead us into the image and to the fresh green grass in the distance.

Beautiful autumnal colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness throughout.

Hello Trevor,
You often have to be prepared to go off piste on day trips. You certainly made the right decision here. A lovely evocation of autumn with excellent light and colours. Good choice of format and making good use of the fallen tree trunk as a lead-line.

Bonjour Trevor,

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. Le regard suit très bien l'arbre mort dans l'image et pousse au loin vers la petite rivière. J'aime beaucoup les couleurs de l'automne.

Hej Trevor,
Du gjorde nog ett klokt val när du tog en promenad i stället för att titta på en fabrik. Den här lilla biten vildmark med sina starka höstfärger är väldigt vacker och det ruttna gamla trädet utgör en fin förgrund.
