Photographer's Note

so, back to the city for today.
This is the Basel version of Southpark. It is the newest building in a redevelopment project on the southern entrance to the railway station in Basel, in a neighborhood called "Gundeldingen" or as the locals say the Gundeli. In the modern building, built by world renewed Basel architects "Herzog & de Meuron" is housed a senior citizan residence, several shops and supermarkets as well as a bank. It gives this former neglected area of Basel a modern touch and is only one of several projects to revamp the area.
Two of the most renewed projects by Herzog and de Meuron are the Tate modern museum in London or the birds nest olympic stadium in Peking among many others. The two Basel born architects today have bureaus in New York, Paris, London or Tokyo. The city is proud of its two star architects and rightly so.
