Photographer's Note

Ritorto in a small village in Val Bavona.

Val Bavona is a small valley near Locarno South Switzerland and one of the most steep and stony in the Alps. The rocky slopes that surround it, extending vertically for hundreds of meters, are the most obvious track left by the glaciers that covered the area in ancient times. The glacier Basodino is the extreme point of this wide valley stretches from the wild. with the work of centuries, between high cliffs and boulders, man was able to obtain meadows, fields and orchards.
