Photographer's Note

Continuing our bycle trip, we decided to head to the north, trying to escape those dark clouds. As you saw in my previous picture, we knew that the rain was really menacing, but we had to make this stop at Bredsättra.

Bredsättra is a small village 5 km away from the eastern coast of Öland. It is known for it's beautiful small church, typical of Öland, and for it's religious past. The first worship place of Öland being built there.

We wanted to see Kapelludden, the "Chapel Cape". Indeed, we had to ride five km towards the coast to finds those ruins of Sankta Birgittas Kapell (Holy Birgit's Chapel ), from the 13th century.

A saying says that when the cows are standing, there will we no rain... We learned that Öland's cows are completely ignorant of this, as all of them were standing, and five minutes after this picture, it was raining cats and dogs ! If those cows have no weather knowledge, they do have some photographical skills, as this one that came here to the perfect place for my picture :o)

After riding 20 minutes under the rain and against the wind, we luckily found a small shelter... After waiting two hours, we continued and found a place on a small beach for our tent and a beautiful sunrise !

to be continued ... ;o)
