Photographer's Note

This old Norse style building dates from the 1890's and was a pleasant spot to have a hot coffee and slice of cake. Apparently mead is served here as well. Maybe it's just as well I didn't have any as I had to find my way back to the bus stop and to my hotel in Uppsala. The only negative review I saw on trip advisor was from a Vegan complaining about the absence of vegetarian dishes and too much fish & meat on the menu. And stale Belgian Waffles. Apparently fresh Swedish waffles are better. Taken from the summit of one of the 3 big Viking Tumuli graves. Anyway, the text on the sign reads:

Odinsborg Mjod det gamla äkta obs de kungl. inskra.å hornen kaffe m.m.

Oh and initially I thought the person who uploaded the review had misspelt 'restaurant' as 'restaurang' with the 'g' & 't' adjacent on the keyboard, but no, 'restaurang' is the correct Swedish word. At left is the Gamla Uppsala church, dating from the early 12th century.
