Photographer's Note

This is my last of photo from Uppsala Ice Festival which took place between 12 and 20 February 2011. This is ice cat could be seen also in one of my other photos, but here it is seen from a slightly different angle from which you could see how cat-like the sculpture really was.

The reason why I have taken all the photos after the darkness has fallen is that the idea the with illuminated sculptures was that people should walk around in the park even during the dull of winter. And people really did every night even if it was some minus ten degrees during the festival.

The artist was Kristina Jansson. She grew up close to the town of Östhammarin Uppland situtated on the Baltic Sea in an island called Raggarö and works mostly with Kristina Jansson mostly works with living beings and their conditions in painting, drawing, sculpture and installations. She has had exhibitions mostly in Sweden in particular in Uppland and Stockholm, but also in Belgium and Finland
